In my search for "Elizer Deaton" I combed through the internet with no luck. Accepting that she was married to Deaton, however, I still had no maiden name to try and find history on her.

I decided to look at her offspring to see if I could find a clue. I believe I found her maiden name listed on James Wesley Deaton's death certificate. James Wesley Dayton Deaton died of a pistol shot to the right lung, and was ruled a homicide.
